Monday 26th June - Windsurf *** River Orwell at Levington - sunny.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5.

As I haven?t been on the water since June 14th and missed a session yesterday as the wind arrived too late for me to be bothered, I was keen to get out today. The best conditions today looked to be early as sunny and a moderate westerly breeze so to make the most of high water which was just before six, I checked the wind first thing, it looked OK so I left home at 6.45 dropping Mag off en-route for her daily walk and arrived at Levington Marina just after seven in wall to wall sunshine with loads of water and a good breeze blowing down the River Orwell so quickly set up my foil board. Sail choice was my next problem, it looked windy enough for 6.5 so rigged that, to be fair the 7.5 might have been better as the wind was a little up and down! I put my newly cut down autumn wetsuit, made into a shortie, this in fact is the only wetsuit I have at the moment and am looking for a winter and autumn wetsuit plus a pair of boots and shoes, poor old pension is going to take a bashing! The session started well and was flying straight away, nice to be back on flat water, my first visit to Levington since 27th April and I broke 20 knots quickly and was pleased with todays average but the wind was very up and down. I did have a couple of long runs down the river but the windy was patchy there so spent most of the session on the corner. Not my best days gybing as the wind was a little light and there was a lot of weed but I did not get any on my foil. Had well over two hours but with the wind easing I decided to call it a day, shower and head for home arriving there at 11 in time to do my exercises in the back garden before a trip to Lidl, we love doing something early, certainly the best part of the day:)
